A Series of Introductions (Blogging)
I thought there was some more detail to be added, after the introduction about what I was going to do at least short term. I’m intending a rough schedule of at least once a week. While I’m getting going I’m planning to write more than that and schedule the appearance of new ones into the future. There may, on the other hand, be some interim posts. Especially if I work out the linking to micro.blog.
The first set of posts will be a rough overview of each of the things I listed as currently learning in last week’s introduction. This is mainly to give some drive and direction while I settle into blogging.
I suppose a good place to start would be the post on blogging:
Blogging
Blogging is something I’ve contemplated for a while. Creating my own little corner of the internet. The issue I’ve always had is that I don’t really want to write a single subject blog, and that’s what people seem to do. I feel a generalist approach is more me. This has the end result that I felt that blogging wasn’t for me.
Then I decided to just go for it, and write a generalist blog. Put well in this article, I’m thinking of newspaper columns, with the subject being whatever takes my fancy on the day. It is also inspired by essayists such as E.B. White (I recommend “Essays of E.B. White”), many of whom were columnists.
So that’s the background to blogging, and a plan: weekly at least, general subject matter, starting with an intro on each of the subeject areas I’ve come up with so far.
Until I’ve worked out how to run comments (Disqus, micro.blog, or other) if you’ve any comments or thoughts I’d love to hear via email.
